Being human, we all experience bad days, bad weeks…some may even say a bad year. Right now, the WORLD is going through a crisis. We are involved in something that no one has ever really seen before. And even though this may seem scary, there is a lot of good that can come from a seemingly devastating situation. Here are some tips that can help us all focus on the positives:

Look at the Big Picture

So, life’s not so great right now…but in the grand scheme of things, hopefully this will all just be a tiny blip on the screen.

Accept the Situation

Stay present and accept what is happening right now. To you. Your family. The world. The sooner you accept the truth, the faster you learn to adapt and move forward. Our greatest accomplishments rise out of our greatest struggles.

Make a “Good things” list by Considering the Benefits

Here are some examples: I lost my job. But, it wasn’t really my dream job anyway. So now, I have the opportunity to find a career that’s more fulfilling. -Or- I get to increase my tech skills and zoom date/hangout with my friends. -Or- I get to spend more time with my family. -Or- I now have the time to rearrange my closet or clean out the garage. -Or- I get to catch up on that show I’ve been meaning to watch. These are just a few, I’m certain we could all think of at least a couple if we really tried.

Be Flexible

When you are in the midst of so many unknowns, it is important to stay flexible. Read the Serenity Prayer: God, grant me the SERENITY to accept the things I cannot change, COURAGE to change the thinks I can; and WISDOM to know the difference.
